Summary - Operational Readiness-Making it Happen

The Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDC) is a State owned corporation responsible for delivering major transport infrastructure projects for the NSW Government.
Since 2004, TIDC has been using the concept of Operational Readiness to not only commission projects but also to integrate them into the CityRail network. This paper provides an outline of some of TIDC’s projects (including the Epping to Chatswood Rail Line, which is due for completion within the next 12 months), a definition for Operational Readiness and elaborates on some of the procedures that have been used to achieve Operational Readiness for these projects. This paper also discusses how these procedures continue to be refined through a “Lessons Learned” process.
